Our Commitment

We believe in straightforward privacy practices. We collect only what we need to run the service, we never sell your data, and we give you full control over your information. No tricks, no hidden data sharing, no shady business.

1. What We Collect

Account information

Your email address and password (securely hashed) to authenticate you.

Profile information

Your name, birthday, gender, phone number, skill level, playing style, playing hand, about me text, hometown, avatar photo, and tennis favorites. All of these are provided by you voluntarily. Only your name and skill level are required.

Activity data

Match results, mate connections, community memberships, messages within match invites, and tournament/league participation. This data is generated through your use of the platform.

Technical data

Basic server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) to keep the service running and secure. We do not use tracking pixels, third-party analytics, or advertising trackers.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

  • Location tracking or GPS data (we only store your hometown if you provide it)
  • Contacts from your phone
  • Social media profiles or browsing history
  • Financial or payment information
  • Data from third-party advertising networks

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data exclusively to provide the TennisMate service:

  • Display your profile to other players so they can find you as a playing partner
  • Organize and track matches, leagues, and tournaments
  • Send you notifications about match invites and results
  • Maintain community standings and statistics

That's it. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than making TennisMate work for you.

4. Who Can See Your Data

Other players can see your profile information (name, skill level, playing style, etc.), your match history within shared communities, and your standings.

Community administrators can see member information within their community for organizing leagues and tournaments.

Third parties: We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third parties. Period.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We use HTTPS for all connections. We regularly review our security practices.

While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable and industry-standard measures to protect your information.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data at any time through your profile
  • Edit your profile information whenever you want
  • Export your data by contacting us
  • Delete your account and all associated personal data by contacting us

We will respond to any data request within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required to keep you logged in and for security (CSRF protection). We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. No cookie consent banner needed because we only use what is strictly necessary.

8. Children

TennisMate is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and notify you through the app for significant changes. We will never retroactively weaken your privacy protections without your consent.
